The pioneer is the one who dreams of the unseen, and goes places that no average person would dare to go. The Sole Classics x Vans Vault Style 36 LX "SCFlyer" represents a mentality that has paved the way for the progression of humanity; that is, the desire to make the impossible, possible. The Style 36 is made up of an off-white cracked leather to nod at the cloth that cloaked the original frame of the first flyer. The reflective gold side stripe pays homage to the innovation of human flight. And when you look at the shoe from the side, its appearance resembles a flight path over the earth. An idea that developed over 100 years ago by a boy from Dayton, OH and his brother, designed for you, the pioneer.

"The Sc Flyer was originally supposed to release before the A-8SC, mostly just because the Wright Brothers would have come before the Moon Landing historically. I honestly do not remember why we chose to reverse the order but doing so allowed for the Sc Flyer to become one of the most unsung surprises in our archive. I probably see this shoe on foot more than any of our other projects. It is wearable, but with subtle nods like the 3M Jazz Stripe and the cracked leather, they couldn't blend even in if they wanted to.
My favorite part of the release was that we has our version of a replica flyer built by a local carpenter and hung it in the shop. Mind you, we were doing all of these things with no budget from the brand. Literally $0. Shout out to JD for putting so much into this in order to represent his hometown of Dayton, OH."
